“The most enjoyable part of being a physical therapist is meeting many different people with various degrees of injury or impairment. I talk to my patients individually and educate them about their specific issues and how to best return them to their highest level of function.

“My goal as a physical therapist is to treat every patient I encounter with respect, empathy and humor while always striving to meet their individual goals. Just about every person with pain or dysfunction would benefit from skilled physical therapy.”

“As a physical therapist, I enjoy educating patients, relieving their pain and helping them meet their personal goals. I look not only at the injured area but also at the whole body and how it moves. This approach allows me to focus on the cause of the pain or dysfunction and to quickly develop a strategy to improve the symptoms or limitations. Patients know they will spend quality one-on-one time with me. This individualized approach allows me to constantly monitor and change a patient’s program to meet their specific needs. My goal is for every patient to see a positive change in their condition after each visit.”

“Physical therapy is one of the few healthcare professions where you get to spend time with your patients and watch them improve. Each patient is unique and deserves an individualized treatment program for their injury or impairment. By educating my patients, providing hands-on therapy and a personal approach, my goal is to help my patients get back to whatever they want to do – quickly and pain-free. I also want my patients to have an enjoyable PT experience and be confident that this is the place to come whenever they are in need of physical therapy.”

Doug Lehman, PT

I have been a physical therapist since 1993 and have been fortunate to experience a wide range of settings, but my favorite has always been the outpatient orthopedic clinic.  I love working with people who are having problems with pain and/or function and helping them through the rehab process to return to full, pain-free activity.

I believe that no two injuries are exactly the same and each one needs to be treated with an individualized approach.  When working with patients, I like to look past the "Golden Rule" of treating others the way you would want to be treated and instead use the "Platinum Rule" of treating others the way they want to be treated."

“The best part of being a pediatric physical therapist is watching a child meet a milestone or perform a skill that some would say could never happen. I have had the privilege of seeing hundreds of kids’ firsts – sitting, crawling, walking and jumping, just to name a few. When a child meets a new milestone, it is the same feeling as when my own children took their first steps. With dedication and hard work, it is extremely rewarding to see how physical therapy can impact the lives of children with disabilities. Not only is my job rewarding, but through the children and their families I have encountered, I have truly been blessed in ways I could have never imagined.”
